Whether you’re a budding Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers, at EJDA we bring Tap to life in classes for all ages and abilities.
This genre has evolved as an American dance form, popularised throughout the world, with debate about its origins coming from African dance, Irish dance and/or clog dancing… Striking the floor and beating out to different rhythms, dancers were tap shoes with small metal plates on the soles, that distinctive sound of dance. Tap Dance us a theatrical art form often seen on stage in musicals and our EJDA tap dancers feature in our annual shows. The Tap Dance grades start from Primary and currently run up to Grade 5 standard and all of our EJDA Tap dancers are given the opportunity to take examinations. We have classes available for boys and girls from age 4+
The EJDA Tap Dance classes are in association with the Imperial Society of teachers of Dancing.
